D. Western Therapeutics Institute, Inc. (DWTI) is a biotechnology (bio-venture) company that focuses on development of innovative new drugs, especially protein kinase inhibitors, to serve patients worldwide.

Protein kinases play an important role in the intercellular messenger system which regulate biological functions of various organism. Recent science have proven that the onset or the cause of many diseases, such as Alzheimer, cancer, hypertension, etc., closely related to the activities of protein kinases in each tissue.

Accordingly, to carry out the research inventing potent and novel inhibitors of protein kinases is very much timely and important.

Our company, founded in February 1999, belongs to the university originated bio-venture of which background is made of tremendous original discovery of novel protein kinase inhibitors (Biochemistry).

Now we have 3 pipelines; anti-platelet, anti-glaucoma and anti-cancer, that are going under clinical testing. We are also aggressively discovering and developing several drugs, such as anti-glaucoma, anti-hypertensive, neuroprotective, anti-thrombogenic, anti-atherosclerosis and anti-cancer.

We concentrate our management resources on R&D and focus on discovering candidate drugs by leaving clinical trial stages to pharmaceutical companies we cooperate. This business model enables us to promote our drug discovery, in which we have strength, and also enables us to expand our business efficiently.

Our hope and also our responsibility is to contribute the health of people by creating safer and more effective new drugs to patients all over the world as soon as possible, that eventually fulfills our duty for our stakeholders.
