Activities performed by Development Laboratories
Hiroyoshi Hidaka, who is the founder of the Company (currently Representative Chairman and Chief Executive Scientist), has engaged in intracellular signal transduction research at a university for a long time. In this intracellular signal transduction research he had worked on drug creation activities utilizing protein kinase inhibitors, in particular, and as a result he had successfully developed two beneficial “first-in-class” drugs in partnership with Japanese pharmaceutical companies before the Company was established.
Utilizing the know-how and experiences acquired by the founder as our unique drug creation engines, the Company is a discovery venture company established to develop low-molecular compounds with a focus on development of protein kinase inhibitors.
Our Development Laboratories are committed to the fundamental research located in the upstream of the new drug development processes and are creating drug candidate compounds at an early explorative stage. Among these fundamental research activities we are independently involved in the development from designing a drug candidate compound and screening the created compound to selection of a prospective lead compound.
